Kingswood Residential Week 2018

Year 5/6 had an incredible week in Kingswood. The photos show just some of the amazing experiences they had!  


Make do and mend-patchwork quilt.

Our patchwork quilt has finally come together! Inspired by the make do and mend ethos of WW2, the children used scraps of materials to combine into a patchwork quilt. Each person in the class used running stitch to sew two patches of fabric together, then Mrs Clark used her sewing machine to complete the quilt.


Kingswood 2018

Wartime Recipes

In World War 2, eggs were rationed to just 1 per week. Many recipes used egg substitutes or no eggs at all. In cooking over the last few weeks Year 3/4 have tried an ‘eggless sponge’ recipes. The recipe worked really well and everyone agreed that it was delicious!


The Royal Wedding

All of the children in the Early Years class made a crown to celebrate the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.


A Very Royal Wedding!

Today we had some very special guests! The royal wedding took place a day early in Year 1 and 2. We enjoyed preparing for the wedding by decorating bunting, crowns and party hats and writing cards to the newly-wed couple! We hope you enjoy a sneak peak at the very royal photos!


Pesto Pasta

As part of our work about how food fuels our bodies and what the different food groups do for us, Year 3/4 have been busy cooking with Mrs Hennessy. They carefully followed a recipe to produce a delicious, healthy meal of ‘Pesto Pasta’.

Forest school week 3

During our third session we learnt how tie a knot called a Timber Hitch. We went on to use this new skill during den building! We also had a knot tying competition! Next week we will be learning how to use a hacksaw…

During our 2nd forest school session we looked at using forest materials to create camouflage pictures and we had  to label our work using sticks. We are really enjoying forest school so far!
