Celebrating Chinese New Year!

This week the children have been learning about the Chinese New Year.  The children tried noodles, rice and prawn crackers, made their own Chinese dragons which they used to perform their own dragon dance and learnt the skill of origami by folding paper to make their own cat or dog.

Telephone Transmission

As part of our sound topic, Year 3/4 had fun making string telephones. They used these to prove that sound energy can travel from particle to particle far easier in a solid (string), so your voice is louder over the same distance than in air.

The children enjoyed taking part in pancake races today in the school hall.  At the end of each race they all enjoyed eating a yummy pancake!  

William Morris inspired printing

As part of their Victorian topic, Year 3/4 have been studying the life and work of Artist, William Morris. Using his famous wallpaper designs as inspiration, they have turned their own observational sketches of natural objects into Morris inspired printing.
